Welcome to the IPS Jungle

"In the Jungle...Owly sleeps tonight!"...was the name of the game for IPS's new A's in the best sunshine on 8/19-23.

The IPS gymnasium resembles a green jungle, with a giant orange snake entwined around the edge and a large lion resting on a branch. It is in this jungle that Principal Mrs. Garcia-Kohn welcomes the eagerly waiting parents, family members and excited first graders at the school induction.

The festivities kicked off with an exciting program centered around Owly the owl, who explores the bright colors of the day together with her jungle friends and is amazed to discover that not all cats are gray during the day and that it sometimes takes a little courage and inquisitiveness to find one's way in the school jungle. There was singing, laughing and cheering along with Owly during an exciting rescue mission! Afterwards, the long-awaited school bags and elaborately designed sugar cones were distributed to the new first graders. Meanwhile, the principal addressed understanding and encouraging words to the families of the school beginners.

A successful start to the 4-year journey at our IPS! And even now, one or the other first grader can be heard humming in the school building: "Louder, louder than a lion. 'Cause I am a champion, and you're gonna hear me roooaaar!"
